The Goshala
Wildlife & Documentary Photography
Personal Project, 2024
A goshala is a sanctuary for cows — a place of care and protection rooted in the Kriya Yoga tradition. The Texas Ashram, home to the Kriya Yoga Temple of Compassion, houses a herd of Brahman cattle on their land outside Dallas. I spent time with the herd documenting their lives — the calves running across the pasture, the elders resting in the grass, the quiet dignity of animals that are genuinely loved.
27 prints from this series were edited, printed, and sold to raise funds for the ashram to build a new goshala for the herd. Each print was produced on Epson Ultra Premium Luster Photo Paper. The series raised $5,000.
