Hi, I'm Salem Jackuback!
A Portland, Oregon-based photographer originally from Texas. In May 2025, I graduated with my BFA in New Media, sold everything I owned, and drove across the country to be here — drawn by the nature, the people, and the feeling that Portland is a place where you can actually be yourself.
I came to photography through color — the way light changes a surface, the way editing can surface exactly what your eyes felt in a moment but a flat image can't quite capture yet. That chase is what keeps me going, whether I'm building a product shoot from scratch, documenting a room full of makers, or sitting quietly at Laurelhurst Park watching the ducks move across the water.
My work spans commercial photography, portrait work, and personal projects rooted in environmental storytelling. I bring the same attention to all of it — the belief that every frame should feel like something, not just show something.
